Olympic athletes know how much it takes to excel at the highest level. They dedicate a large part of their day to training, learning, growing, and accepting the wins and defeats their sport throws at them. Track and field was a big part of my life (10 years, 4x All-American, 2004 Olympic Trials Finalist), and I learned you got to become a student of your event each and every day. There are good days, and there are days you got to learn from your defeats. Working in social media is like a digital Olympic arena. Competitions to be the best are everywhere. Everyone is racing to achieve the same goals. No one really has the same training routine. WHAT IF professionals approached their social media work like an Olympic athlete? They would have structure, mentorship and coaching from leaders in the industry, and they would have to invest the time and resources needed to be successful. With an Olympic athlete mindset, you are able to also balance the wins and challenges, and learn from the experience. Work hard, win easy is the motto to the social media Olympic games.
